Materials

ChaseQuilts offers digitalized pantograph designs. The following information will help you prepare your quilt for quilting.

Batting

I provide the following or you may provide your own high quality batting. If providing your own, it needs to be 8” longer and wider than your quilt top.

Quilters Dream 100% cotton: $0.38 per linear inch. The length will be determined by the width of your quilt + 8 inches (4 inches on each side)

Quilters Dream 80/20 cotton/polyester blend: $0.35 per linear inch. The length will be determined by the width of your quilt + 8 inches (4 inches on each side)

Thread

Thread is including in the price of the quilting design. I use Glide polyester thread and will try to match the lightest fabric or we can discuss other color options.

Preparing Your Quilt

Your quilt should be well pressed and all loose threads on the front should be removed.

Your quilt top should be perfectly squared on all sides.

The batting and backing should be 4” larger on every side of the quilt.

The backing fabric needs to be pieced and squared. Selvages should not be included in any seams in the backing fabric. It’s best to have horizontal seams if the backing is pieced.

If there are bias edges they should be stay stitched to prevent stretching.
